Headteachers Welcome
Welcome to Days Lane Primary School
Welcome to Days Lane Primary School. We hope our website gives you a clear insight into daily life at our school and the strong sense of community we are proud to share.
Our school values — Resilience, Respect, Responsibility, Compassion, Community and Excellence — underpin everything we do at Days Lane. They guide our approach to learning and behaviour and help children develop the skills and attitudes they need to flourish. Every child is known as an individual, and strong partnerships with parents and carers are central to our work, ensuring all children feel safe, supported and inspired to achieve their very best.
Our dedicated pastoral team and SENCO work closely with children and families to promote inclusion, positive mental health and wellbeing. We are committed to nurturing the whole child and providing targeted support whenever needed.
We aim to develop curiosity and a genuine love of learning. Our engaging curriculum encourages children to embrace new challenges with confidence, becoming independent, resilient and creative learners. We have high expectations for both learning and behaviour, and our children take pride in meeting them.
Learning at Days Lane extends well beyond the classroom. Our spacious grounds provide excellent opportunities for outdoor learning, sport and enrichment. We offer a wide range of clubs and extra-curricular activities, including music, drama, coding and a variety of sports.
Our facilities include:
-
Nursery – a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment where our youngest children are nurtured through play-based learning. Our experienced early years team work closely with Reception staff to ensure a smooth, confident and happy transition into school life.
-
Forest School area – supporting outdoor learning and enhancing our Early Years Foundation Stage provision
-
Music provision – specialist music teachers, keyboard and violin lessons, choir and performance opportunities
-
Large playing fields – supporting a strong programme of sport, competitions and physical activity
-
One-to-one Chromebooks in Key Stage 2 – enabling children to develop digital skills, enhance learning across the curriculum and prepare for the next stage of their education
-
After-school clubs – led by school staff, coaches and specialist providers to further enrich children’s experiences
-
Wraparound care – on-site provision for pupils from Reception to Year 6, staffed by familiar school adults and offering a range of engaging activities
We celebrate both effort and achievement, believing that enjoyment, positive mental health and wellbeing are essential for children to thrive. Our aim is for every child to develop the skills, confidence and attitudes needed to contribute positively to the wider community and to become a lifelong learner.
We would be delighted to welcome you to Days Lane Primary School and show you our wonderful school in person.
