Makaton Club
Some of our Year 5 pupils asked if they could follow their interest in Makaton and start a club at Days Lane. They meet regularly with Mrs Kennedy to learn simple Makaton sign language and will begin to teach to other pupils in the future, whilst also contributing to weekly assemblies and other school events.
What is Makaton?
Makaton is a unique language that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate. It supports the development of communication skills such as attention and listening, comprehension, memory, recall and organisation of language and expression.
